What Is Aramco’s Recruitment Process?
Start your career search by visiting the dedicated website for your country or region to find available positions. If you find one you wish to apply for, create a profile, and upload your resume. You can also upload your resume and create a profile to join the Aramco talent network. If you join the talent network you will receive alerts when jobs that suit your qualifications become available.
Some positions require pre-hire testing. You will be notified if this is required, and the talent team representative will help you start the process.
You may be contacted either by telephone or email to schedule an interview. This may start with a basic phone screening, where you will discuss your qualifications, and learn more about the position.
Your next interview will be face-to-face with the management team. If it is not possible for you to be onsite, a video interview will be scheduled. The interviews will focus on problem-solving, technical knowledge, and some behavioral questions. You are encouraged to ask questions you have about the position, and be open about your qualifications and experience in your field.
International hires will have a few more steps to go through. You will need to pass any medical exams, and consult with your assigned relocation advisor. They will help you through the process of getting all the documentation you need to work in another country, find housing, and enroll your dependents in school.
Aramco’s Assessments
Like many companies, Aramco uses psychometric tests to help narrow the applicant field for some positions. These tests are computer-based and are used to look for ideal behavioral traits, problem-solving skills, and in some cases basic technical knowledge. The tests listed below are a few of the tests commonly given by Aramco.
Analytical/Logical Aptitude Test – This test is given to show how well you can interpret data, find patterns, and problem-solve. You will be given different sequences of shapes and matrices and you will need to be able to identify the pattern in the sequence to either identify the missing piece or find the one that does not fit.
Numerical Reasoning Test – This shows how well you work with numbers. You may need to solve word problems, use graphs or tables to find the answer, and perform varying mathematical functions.
Verbal Reasoning Test– Here, you will be given short passages followed by true or false questions. This assessment helps show how well you can follow written directions, and draw a conclusion with limited data.
Personality Survey – It is common practice for companies to have a model of the best type of personality for certain roles. Personality surveys are given to help find candidates with traits that closely approximate those of their model template. These surveys are multiple choice and you will either rank responses from least to most likely or select the descriptor that best matches you.
How to Prepare for Aramco’s Psychometric Tests?
To give yourself the best chance of success, prepare for the online tests with the same care you give to preparing for an interview. Make sure you understand the position and any technical skills you may need a refresher on. Make sure your verbal skills are sharp by reading and quizzing yourself on what you have read with questions you prepared or found online in student resources. Crosswords and sudoku are great ways to strengthen the pathways in your brain related to logical reasoning and problem-solving. Do not neglect your mathematical skills. Flashcards, practice problems, and practicing solving problems while timed will help you approach the tests with more confidence.
