What Is a Caliper Assessment?

The Caliper test contains 180 questions. While there is no official time limit, the test usually takes about 2 hours to complete. You’ll be asked to answer a series of questions regarding your personality. The questions take a variety of forms. Some our multiple-choice, some are true-false questions, and others will present you with a sliding scale.

The hiring manager will send you a link to the online exam. You won’t even have to go to an assessment center since you can take the test right from the comfort of your own home. How Is the Caliper Profile Test Used?

The Caliper profile assessment is given to graduates and job-seekers as a pre-employment screening test. Once the results have been imported into Caliper Analytics, the company can use the information for other purposes. Supervisors also might administer the test to current employees who are up for a promotion.

Managers can also search the database for hidden talent that supervisors never thought to promote. They can also use the Caliper test results to group employees by personality. With hard data, they can match up individuals they know will work well together.

How to Pass a Caliper Test?

As with most personality tests, the Caliper assessment test is based on various character traits. While preparing for the test, you’re going to want to think about some of your own strengths and weaknesses. Caliper Assessment Tips:

Technically, there is no answer key for the Caliper test questions. That being said, you shouldn’t simply answer however you want. If you want to move forward to the interview round, you’re going to have to get some practice in ahead of time. Here are our best tips for making the most of your preparation.

  1. Stay Focused
    With two hours of questions, your eyes will start to glaze over. Make sure though that you grab a glass of cold water and get up and stretch your legs every once in a while. If you’re not paying careful attention to the questions in front of you, you’ll become careless with your answers.With 180 questions, one question won’t throw off your results. That being said, you don’t want to risk losing the job because of carelessness.
  2. Be Sincere
    Unlike other psychometric assessments, this test will be stored and used again. As a general rule, you never want to lie on any aptitude test. However, it’s even more important on the Caliper exam because you might be asked to join a certain team based on your responses.  It’s in your best interest, really, to respond as honestly as possible because it might affect you for years to come.
  3. Don’t Think Too Hard
    You’ll be asked a series of questions, many of which won’t necessarily be all that clear. For instance, you’ll be given the statement, “I often give positive feedback to others,” and asked to rate yourself on a scale of one to five.It can be easy to overthink the question. Maybe you usually give positive feedback, but you can also be quite critical. Perhaps, you try to avoid talking to a few of your colleagues, but you still give positive feedback to the majority of your co-workers.That’s all fine. In fact, it’s quite normal. Don’t feel like you have to account for every extraneous situation when you answer the question. Give your best answer based on your behavior on a typical day. Then move on. Your prospective employers are simply trying to glean a bit more about your personality. They do not, however, need to know everything about you.

Caliper testing shouldn’t scare you. It’s a simple personality evaluation designed to give your employers a little bit more information about your strengths and weaknesses, your potential and your limitations.

That being said, you shouldn’t write the Caliper personality assessment off as a mere questionnaire either. Your answers will largely determine whether you’re called in for an interview or not. You should make sure to spend some time studying Caliper assessment questions and answers so that you know what to expect and how to best portray yourself on paper.
