GardaWorld Interviews

The interview process can vary based on the security position you are interviewing for, and if you have applied for a non-security job.

The first interview is a brief screening over the phone. During this call, the recruiter will find our general information about you and review your experience. If the screening goes well, you will be asked to attend in-person interviews. Interviews are conducted both in the office and via Zoom.

• Reading Comprehension – Working security requires being able to read and understand instructions and draw conclusions from incomplete information. There are several passages you will need to read and use to answer multiple-choice questions. You may also need to give word definitions based on the context and find specific information within a passage.
• Spelling – Since part of your job requires writing reports, good spelling is a must. In this test, you will need to determine how many words are misspelled in a passage or find the misspelled word in a sentence.
• Grammar – Here you will need to determine the best way to reconstruct a poorly written sentence, determine correct punctuation, and look for words used incorrectly.

Logical Reasoning Test – Thinking logically is necessary when working security. The logic portion of the test will focus on pattern recognition such as determining sequences, finding patterns in information, and even using maps to find locations.

X-Ray Object Recognition Test – This test is generally reserved for pre-boarding security working with the TSA. It may be used for other security positions that require the use of X-rays when people enter a building. There will be a series of 20 X-ray images of people’s bags.
