What Is KIA Motors?

Kia Motors was founded in 1944 in Seoul, South Korea. After a rocky time in the early 2000s, a minority acquisition by Hyundai allowed the company to stay afloat. Kia is the second largest motor company in South Korea, after Hyundai. Kia has a multinational presence. There are sales and distribution sites and one manufacturing plant in the United States. They have established sales and marketing divisions in Central and South America, and Europe, and a manufacturing plant in Mexico. In 2019 a production facility that produces a specialty range of cars strictly for the Indian market was opened. In Pakistan, Kia Motors and Lucky cement formed a joint venture and created Kia Lucky Motors, also known as KLM. The company employs more than 50,000 workers worldwide.

What Is KIA’s Recruitment Process?

To start the application process, head to the Kia website. There, you can search for jobs in your field, and apply for internships. To access the application once you have found a position that interests you, you will need to create a profile. Through this profile you can sign up for alerts, and track the progress of your application.

If your application stands out, you will be contacted for an initial telephone interview with a human resources representative. This interview will be brief, and will focus on your experience and skill set.

Following the telephone screening, you will be emailed a link to the online assessment tests. If you do not perform well on the assessments you will not be asked to continue in the hiring process.

Competitive scores on the exams mean you will proceed to the next step. You will be asked to attend an in-person interview. These interviews will be conducted with a member of management, or department head. The interview method, and the number of people present, depends on the job you are interviewing for.

  • Verbal Reasoning Test For many positions, you will need to show proficiency with language. This is to show you are capable of reading and following directions, and also following verbal directions. You will be given a short paragraph to read, and will then answer a series of questions about the information it contained. This test is timed and is multiple-choice.
  • Inductive Reasoning Test This test is a measure of how well you recognize patterns, and interpret sequences in shapes and figures. You will need to determine the next piece in a sequence by reasoning out how the pattern of shapes is changing.
  • Mechanical Aptitude Test – Those going for more technical roles may need to take a skill-based test to show they have a basic understanding of machines and how they work. This test will be multiple-choice, and will focus on basic mechanical principles.
  • Excel Test – If you are in the running for an administrative position, you will need to show skill with common office software.

 

How to Prepare for KIA Motors’ Assessments?
