Novelis is a manufacturer that produces aluminum cans, automobile parts, and wing structure and fuselage components for the aerospace industry. What Is Novelis’ Hiring Process?
Application
Find the job that interests you by searching the Novelis website. To apply for a position, you will be asked to enter your email address and create a profile. This allows you to save your searches and sign up to receive job alerts. You can search for jobs near you, or if you are hoping to relocate, either within your country or internationally, you can search by location.
Novelis’ Pre-Hire Testing
Some positions at Novelis may require assessment tests. These could be skills-based tests such as coding or typing, or psychometric tests for verbal and numerical reasoning. Those who will be doing mechanical, or engineering work will likely be required to demonstrate their proficiency by taking the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test II, BMCT II. Manufacturing or assembly line workers may be asked to take a SAM Test.
- BMCT II – The BMCT II is a 55-question test that will focus on 7 different areas of mechanical aptitude, and 3 areas of basic physics. Most of the questions on the test will feature drawings or diagrams, and you will need to study the details in order to find the correct answer. The questions are multiple-choice, and you will have 25 minutes in which to complete the test. Many of the questions will focus on velocity, fluid dynamics, and force. Other areas that will be tested are understanding gears and pulleys, wheels, acoustics, and optics.
- SAM Test (Select Assessment for Manufacturing) – If you are applying to work in a manufacturing position you may be required to take this test. It is designed to determine if your abilities are compatible with a manufacturing job. It has both multiple-choice and interactive questions which will measure your problem-solving abilities. This test is tailored for specific jobs, so the time limit and exact questions will vary.

Verbal reasoning, mathematical reasoning, SJT, abstract reasoning and personality tests.
Interviews
Your first interview with Novelis is a phone screening with a talent specialist. They will speak with you about your background and experience, as well as your long-term career goals. If you seem like you will be a good match you will be invited to an in-person interview. During this interview, you will meet with managers from several different areas, and may also be asked to attend a meeting with one of the stakeholders.
