Wipro’s recruitment process has four key stages:

Online Application

The first step to a rewarding career at Wipro is applying online via their careers site. Job seekers will need to set up a profile so that they can keep track of their application throughout the process.

Once you have found the role you wish to apply for, you will need to complete an online application form. It is straightforward and asks you for some personal details (name, address, contact details) as well as questions about your work and education history. In addition, depending on the role you are applying for (for example, graduate opportunities), you may be asked to answer a few application-specific questions about your motivations for applying to Wipro and your career aspirations.

If your application makes it through the first stage, you will be invited to participate in three online aptitude tests.

Online Assessments

The three aptitude assessments you will take part in will be sent to you via email from the HR manager. The tests have been designed to give the recruiter an understanding of your cognitive abilities in relation to the role and company and play a key part in the screening process. The three tests you will take are:

  • Logical Reasoning TestThe logical reasoning test is a short test with 16 questions that must be completed in 16 minutes. The test has been designed to understand your reasoning abilities. Questions on the logical reasoning test will show you a series of shapes or patterns, and you have to select the next one in the sequence from a series of multiple-choice answers.
  • Verbal Reasoning TestThe verbal reasoning test assesses your ability to understand and analyze written information. You will be shown a paragraph of text and will be asked a question relating to the text. This multiple-choice-based test will assess your understanding of basic vocabulary and comprehension. The test will ask you 22 questions which you have to complete in 18 minutes.
  • Quantitative Aptitude TestThis is a numerical reaasoning aptitude test is another short test in which applicants must answer 18 questions in 20 minutes. Questions on this test are varied and cover basic, applied, and engineering mathematics. The quantitative aptitude test has been designed to understand each candidate’s mathematic ability and problem-solving capabilities.

Depending on the role for which you have applied, you may also have further assessments. For example, if you are applying for a UX designer role, you may be asked coding questions in addition to the mathematic-based ones.

Interviews

If you succeed in the aptitude testing, you will be invited to two interviews. The first interview is technical based and will be with the hiring manager, HR manager and a senior manager from the team you are applying to.

Depending on where you live and the office you apply for, this interview might be in person or held virtually over Teams.

In this interview, it is important to get across your technical skills and passion. It would be best if you spoke about the work you have done in the past. Wherever possible, you should always back your statements up with examples as evidence.

The second interview will be with 1-2 members of the HR team. This interview will be competency-based and will allow the recruiter to gain an understanding of your motivations for applying, how you work, how you fit in with Wipro’s values and how you behave in the workplace.

To prepare for the interviews, you should spend time researching Wipro and the job you have applied to. You should come prepared to both interviews with an understanding of what Wipro does, where it is going, any recent developments in the sector and their competitors. If you want to know something, it is wise to brainstorm 8-10 questions to ask HR and the team, as this will show you are genuinely passionate about the company and the sector.

In addition to doing your research on Wipro, you should also take the time to prepare answers to common questions that Wipro will likely ask, including:

  • Why do you want to work at Wipro?
  • Who are our competitors, and do you think we should do anything differently?
  • What challenges will we face (if any) in the coming years?
  • Tell me about a time when you led a team to success. What are the steps you took to get there?
  • Tell me about a time when you have gone above and beyond for a client.

How to Prepare for Wipro’s Assessments?

The psychometric assessments have been designed to help Wipro find the best candidates for their open job positions. Therefore, to succeed at them, you must ensure that you are fully prepared. The best way to prepare for the type of psychometric tests you will encounter is by taking online practice tests and studying practice questions.

The online practice tests will allow you to immerse yourself in the conditions that you will face on the day. The more you work this way, the more you will get used to working both quickly and accurately. The great thing about online tests is that they allow you to see your scores once you’ve submitted them. This can be a fantastic indicator of how you will do on the day and let you see areas for improvement.

In addition to practicing psychometric exams online, one of the top tips we can give you is to spend some time studying example questions. Example questions are an excellent way for you to get familiar with the questions you will encounter on the tests without the added time pressure. Furthermore, because example questions contain the answers, it will allow you to fully understand how complex questions have been worked out, which can help you succeed on the day of the actual tests.
